YOGA FOR BACK HEALTH WORKSHOPS

Two back health workshops focusing on posture, alignment and corrective movement

.

.

PART 1: YOGA FOR BACK HEALTH – POSTURAL ALIGNMENT
with Christina Niven

.

Approximately 80% of adults will experience acute back lower back pain during their lifetimes. The good news is that with self-care such as yoga and stretching and a change in lifestyle, 90% of those cases can resolve within one month of active care.

.

Posture plays a critical role in how our bodies carry, distribute and exert force. It affects the shape and health of our physical, mental and emotional being.

.

In this intro workshop, we will examine posture, look at its effects, explore anatomy and movement of the spine and include both active and restorative practices for postural realignment and re-patterning.

.

.

PART 2: YOGA FOR BACK HEALTH – THE UPPER & LOWER BACK

with Christina Niven

.

Approximately 80% of adults will experience acute back lower back pain during this lifetime. The good news is that with self-care such as yoga and stretching and a change in lifestyle, 90% of those cases can resolve within one month of active care.

.

In this workshop we will specifically address common issues experienced with those having upper and/or lower back pain. We will look at anatomy, movement patterns and then dive into therapeutic practice aimed at repatterining and releasing each area, while understanding that it is all a process and takes time and practice.

.

For those wishing to attend who have current back pain, please consult with a medical professional prior to registration to ensure that this is right time for you.
